Professional consult

We are offering trauma-informed, professional consultations for service providers and educators. This can involve many potential areas

Consult about a client

We all have those clients and/or families. The ones that constantly leave us scratching our heads thinking, “What else can we do for them?” And many of us seek advice from fellow professionals in our areas, get a looooong list of things to try, try those things, and go back to scratching our heads all over again. If you want some trauma-informed guidance or insight into these “tricky” or “confusing” clients, we can provide some clarity and actionable steps to take to help move forward with that situation.

Consult about a work environment

Okay, so this might be more of a life-coaching type of thing, but if you are really struggling with a work environment that is negatively impacting your mental health and/or quality of life, we will work through the situation with you. Our goal is for you feel understood, affirmed, and to help you problem-solve. We'll leave you with actionable steps for several possible solutions for you to choose from depending on what you feel is right for you.

Professional coaching

If you’re a SLP who’s really, really struggling with imposter syndrome — like, in an all-consuming-invasive-thoughts kind of a way — this could be for you. Maybe you’re a clinical fellow who has very different ideas of what to do with your neurodivergent clients compared to your supervising SLP, and you don’t know what to do or say to defend your views. Or maybe you’ve tried to defend your views, but they still want to you do things their way. Or maybe you’re an experienced SLP who’s trying to shift your perspective from “traditional” towards neurodivergent-affirming (or trauma-informed overall). Whatever the situation, we’ll try to help you with resources and ideas, as well as emotional validation cause those situations are tough!!!

*Fees for each service will likely vary depending on a variety of factors (e.g., area of consultation, situational nuance that might lead to longer, or ongoing, consultation.) Please fill out the form below if interested.

  • Working with Kim is like being validated in all the ways you know you should be, but rarely are in life...She taught me that sometimes in order to make “progress," the most important thing to do is listen, then talk. She reminded me of the simple fact that students, clients and patients are people, complex human people, and need to be treated as such. “Trauma-informed SLP” is an understatement when describing Kim; she is a pioneer in TIC and continues to dedicate her time and energy to shifting systemic ideas and norms and making systemic change around how neurodivergent (and neurotypical) people are treated. She’s also hysterical. Kim for president!!! (or teacher or mentor or therapist…)

    former colleague and frequent collaborator

  • I felt more like a collaborator with Kim than a student in that she would answer my questions and offer suggestions in a non-judgemental way. She also helped me learn how to clinically reason in order to apply the theory I had been taught in my classes. I actually felt more like a "real clinician" after my time learning with her.

    -Graduate student intern

  • After some bad experiences with clinical supervisors during graduate school, Kim really helped build my confidence as a clinician. Whenever I had questions of what to do with a client, she would help me reason through potential evidence-based options so that I was still the one making the decisions of what to do and where to go with my students. I feel so lucky to have had her as a supervisor!
